Plasma TV.
I just noticed a few days ago there are two rows of faded squares on the bottom of my Plasma TV screen. They are only noticable when the screen is white or gray (and a few other lighter colors). The tv is about 15 months old.
Image retention(burn-in). That’s a very common problem of older plasma Televisions. If you watch channels with non-translucent logos, the image can eventually harm the screen. Another potential burn-in cause, are watching a lot of programs recorded in 4:3 aspect ratio. Depending on how severe the damage is, sometimes it can be reversed or faded by displaying an all white image on the screen for a specified amount of time. Some plasma televisions have a screen-saver feature that comes on when a static(idle) image is displayed for a long time.

LCD TV.
Recently I bought a dynex LCD TV. However, I don’t fell comfortable with that brand. I want a 26” lcd tv but my budget is around 300$. So far the only brands that sell tvs for that price that i know of are vizio, sanyo, insignia, dynex, rca, and sylvania. Which of these is the most reliable brand? Do you have any other suggestions? I don’t want to buy the tv online so please keep that in mind. Thanks.
I would go with Vizio or Sanyo. Those are both two quality brands that are trusted. I sell tv’s for a living and we don’t get many returns with those. Dynex is terrible Best Buy stuff. Don’t buy it.
Stay away from Emerson as well.
You may be able to find a cheap 26′ Phillips tv as well. They are also reliable.

Plasma TV.
I had to transport my Plasma TV home laid flat in my car because it couldn’t fit upright. It was a half hour drive, the screen is undamaged but I’m wondering if the gasses will have been messed up and if so what the consequences might be?
the danger in transporting a plasma laying down is in risking the glass cracking under the weight. if the screen looks fine, it should be ok.

Is it safe to mount an LCD TV bracket for a 40" tv to plaster board and then hang the tv on it.
As all the solid walls im planning on putting it on is too inconvenient. Would i need some sort of butterfly wallplug, which is a bolt with a bit on the end which opens up inside the wall, i would get my dad to do it but hes a bit of a cowboy. What way would i go about it?
Thanks!
i wouldn’t chance it matt plaster board doesn’t hold very well i would move my room around and then put it on a solid wall

I want to buy Plasma TV because it’s cheaper but would I be spending equal amount if i purchase LCD-TV in the long run?
It depends!
If you compare a entry-level LCD with an entry-level Plasma TV. They will use about the same amount of energy! If you compare a entry-level LCD with a High-end Plasma TV, then things will be different.
Higher end models have added features and better panel technology in them and these things can affect energy usage. Also…keep in mind that Plasma TVs use less energy to produce dark images, and more energy to produce light images. LCDs use a flat amount of energy regardless of what’s on!
Overall…today’s Plasma TVs are the most energy efficient they’ve ever been! And if they do use more energy then a LCD…it won’t be noticeable on your energy bill! And what brand you go with also bares on how much you pay in the long run! Some brands are a lot less reliable and require more money down the road.
Brands i recommend in terms of performance and reliability:
1) Panasonic/Pioneer
2) Samsung
3) Sony
4) LG
5) Sharp/Toshiba/Vizio

I have a Craig Mp3 player I brought at CVS and it came with a usb cord. I am trying to connect it to my Plasma TV but I am getting "No Signal" message on the TV. How do I set it up?
You plug the usb cord into the pc not into the plasma tv!

Hey I have a Plasma TV that doesnt have speakers, and a surround sound system. I am wondering if there is a way to hook the n64 up so I can play it on the tv with sound.
We just got surround sound in our basement so I’m not that familiar with it but isn’t there like a box that controls the surround sound or something. You could plug the white and red audio cables into that and then plug the yellow video cable into your tv. This happened to a friend of mine with his xbox unfortunately his tv was on the wall and the surround sound box was on a stand and the audio cables couldn’t reach while the video cable was plugged into the tv. Like I said I’m not an expert on the surround sound stuff but just give it a try.
