There are no 26" LCDs I would recommend for your price. Pretty much, under $500 you get cheap, third tier junk. Read this - http://www.hdguru.com/your-new-disposable-flat-panel-hdtv/107/
About the best I found, that I could recommend, is the Toshiba 26AV500U for around $500-$540. If you buy cheap crap, you will regret it. HDTVs are too expensive to purchase and very expensive to repair. Save up a bit more, or drop down a size to 19"-23" in a quality, name brand that will last.

Try Ebay, but I really think it will be difficult to get an LCD at that price. 19 inch LCDs run between 500 - 700 dollars new. Do you know much about LCDs? What resolution do you want? Do you want HDMI or componant hook ups?
