because its been in japan for ever now its new in the us more demand means you can charger more the market is slowly becomming saturated here as it is in japan then prices drop think of computers homie same deal

Greedy retailers on two different week ends I visited a favorite store shopping and comparing prices over the week they raised the price $400 which was already $300 over the manufacturer suggested retail. I think here in the US price is set based on what they think we can afford to pay.

this is true LCD tv’s are cheap in HK & CHINA ,i have checked my self in china SONY BRAVIA 40 inchs are for 8990 RMB & 32 inchs for 6990 RMB.

You have to understand that companies that make products calculate the cost of parts that go into their products along with the costs of labor. So many factors go into product pricing. When companies use "cheap labor" they can afford to sell it far cheaper than if its made by workers who make a decent wage.

It’s a struggle between good and evil if you will ! Some companies make quality products and in the process provide good paying jobs for their workers while other companies try to get by as cheaply as possible and often times in that cheaper process, its the workers who suffer.

i think it is because sony is a japanese company, and the shipping costs are a lot less. there is a risk for the tv to break, etc.
