is it okey to buy a cheap lcd tv or plasma for the ps3?
hey guyz i was looking at the store today and i saw alot ALOT Plasma TVz and lcd and all that shit ….. so i saw a pretty cheap one .. maybe il get it for the ps3 .its like less then 28 inch and it was samsung … i couldent see the quality of it cuz it was turned off another question if it was 720p will it give good quality when playing ps3 and bright and all that?
Its entirely up to you. Everyone is different in their demands on their TV. If you go with a cheaper one, it might not be exactly as crisp or clean or "good" as the more expensive ones, but it may well be perfect for your needs. So is it okay to buy a cheap HDTV, sure, but again its your money and your viewing experience so its up to you. Buying a cheaper brand name one I think is certainly a safer bet than trying to save with a no-name brand (Samsung is a top notch manufacturer).
A 26" Samsung LCD would be a solid choice for PS3. 720p is just fine at that size. TVs under 40" don't really need 1080p. You just don't see the advantages of it. You can still get a top notch HD viewing experience with a 720p television in medium and small sized sets.
As you didn't give a specific model number its hard to say a lot more as to how it would hold up. But again, I think a 720p 26" Samsung LCD, even the entry level models, would serve you reasonably well for your PS3 needs.
Cheap sets get screen burn to easy, even LG. When a picture remains on the screen too long it will always remain. Also The graphics aren't quite as good. Ideally go for a 100hz 1080p. I spent £570 in the end for a 32inch. I used a cheap cable as well to test on it and I could see a massive difference. Also ps3 has Blu Ray so you'll need a good set.

Plasma are in size of 42 - 65 inch. The Samsung you are looking at is an LCD in 720P. Some Plasma will get burn-in for your purpose of gaming if left on for sometime. LCD does not have that problem with used for gaming. I do have a 28" screen (LCD) for my computer and used for games. Go for it, you'll love the bigger picture for your games. Samsung is top on my list for LCD's.
