Why don't you get the Panasonic VIERA
Panasonic VIERA G10 Series TC-P50G10 50-Inch? It is one of the top selling and most quality ones for really cheap price and also free shipping right here http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FPanasonic-VIERA-TC-P50G10-50-Inch-Plasma%2Fdp%2FB001UAEWUS%3Fie%3DUTF8%26s%3Delectronics&tag=msb08a-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325

There is not better one than this, that is why it is one of the top selling ones currently.
References :
Vizio are good budget priced but ours died in just months. Although it was plasma, and i do think they're getting better. But I would still recommend samsung, sony, or LG. Better to be safe.
References :
At 40" and above you really should be looking towards Plasma sets. You will start to get the advantages of Plasma in that size range. Also, you won't have to pay for premium LCD features, because Plasma provides those added qualities 'free' right out of the box (its inherent to the technology). So need for an LED LCD with 120Hz refresh rate, Plasma is better in color, blacks, and contrast, and has a near instantaneous refresh rate (600Hz sub-field drive you might see is not a refresh rate, its something else). For brands, I would stick with Panasonic if you can. If that just doesn't do it for you, then you can settle with a Samsung or LG option.

If you are just dead set on an LCD, then make sure you pay extra for an LED backlit set and something with 120Hz or 240Hz refresh rates. Brand wise you want Sony or Samsung primarily. They will provide you the best options at that size, best quality options that is.

Vizio is an okay up and coming manufacturer. I think you can expect to get good TVs from them, but not great TVs. They are an acceptable budget option, but far from being "the best that money can buy." They just don't have the image processor quality that the bigger name brands can provide you.
References :
VIZIO uses discontinued parts from other manufacturers.(Left Overs). Note to self Lcd's only last 2-3yrs. Plasma lasts 4-6 years. They both can have image burn-in. Remember you get what you pay for.
Panasonic at least has good customer support line.
