Is it safe to mount an lcd tv bracket for a 40" tv to plaster board?
Is it safe to mount an LCD TV bracket for a 40" tv to plaster board and then hang the tv on it.
As all the solid walls im planning on putting it on is too inconvenient. Would i need some sort of butterfly wallplug, which is a bolt with a bit on the end which opens up inside the wall, i would get my dad to do it but hes a bit of a cowboy. What way would i go about it?
Thanks!
i wouldn’t chance it matt plaster board doesn’t hold very well i would move my room around and then put it on a solid wall
Personally I would not risk hanging my wide screen tv on a plaster board wall! Just think how gutted you will be if it falls on the floor!

Isn’t there a recommended rawlplug fitting for plaster boards? You really need to get the fastening device into a solid wall, otherwise. Why not cut a strip out of the plaster board, and fit a solid bracket direct to the wall, then cover it with a narrow wooden strip/veneer?
Don’t risk an expensive TV on the unsupporting nature of plaster!

It is unsafe. Your TV will crash. It must be anchored to studs that are re-enforcing the plaster board.

No
Either fix the bracket to the wooden frame behind the board (unlikely the holes match up)
or fit wood planks (2cm * 5cm) to the wood frame behind the board and mount the bracket on these planks
