Did not buy extended warranty. <br>TV was in a home environment, not abused or used extensively. We are not heavy TV users, a few shows during the week, Saturday morning cartoons, not even daily users. <br>Eighteen months later, daughter is watching a DVD, TV goes black, totally inoperative. Take it to local Sharp authorized repair center, verdict is fried main board. New board $280, total $415 with labor. Call Sharp.usa Aquos Advantage support, ask is they can provide partial relief, i.e. pay for part cost. I felt major component should be more robust, eighteen months to failure is pretty short. <br>No deal, no sympathy for anything outside warranty.
