We purchased this tv from costco 2 years ago. This was a large purchase so we did our homework and for the money, this was the best value for our money. the only regret was waiting till the prices dropped a bit to purchase, we paid a little over 2000 dollars, and now the prices seem to be around 1500. This tv has not disappointed one bit! We watched Planet Earth on discovery soon after we purchased, and we were completely amazed at the picture quality with HD programming. You wont be dissapointed with this tv unless you are a serious electronics nut that needs to spend thousands more on a TV that has negligable differences. 50 inches is plenty big as well.

This TV has it all for the money. Great Picture. We got the surround sound package and this TV is the best.

This is our second Panasonic plasma tv. The first one is a TH42PD50U, bought in November 2005. It has several thousand hours of perfect, faultless usage already. We are SO PLEASED with the 42 incher that we bought the 50 inch model. Watch for sales; I paid $1199.00 at Sears on June 24 2008. I can see no difference between the 720p and the 1080p sets. (I am 52 years old.) Consumer Reports was right. Both of these Panasonic plasma tv's were superior products and excellent values. All of our friends are envious that we have TWO plasma tv's in our home. They too are impressed with Panasonic's products. I will definitely buy another Panasonic if the need arises! Thanks for making a great product!
